What's the double bock with the Cows on it? Haven't tried that one before.... (The DFH 60 minute sounds SOO good right now.)

I'm in Charleston, South Carolina for 3 weeks so I'm stacking up on American beers too.

Drinking a "Black Albert" "Belgian Royal Stout" right now; my personal opinion is that its not worth the hype (nor $10 for 0.33L) but it is interesting. It's like a mix between Belgian Flemish Red/Braun and a RIS, with just a twist of milk stout thrown in there. It's got the acidic/sour edge of a Belgian Flemish but the dark color and roasty edge of a stout.

Had a Peche Mortel Coffee Stout earlier this evening. It is ABSOLUTELY worth the hype and then some; I don't even really like coffee stouts that much but this thing is SOO well balanced and SO tasty; I have no idea how they pulled it off. I've not had a coffee stout that can even TOUCH it.

Also had Bear Republic "Racer 5" IPA earlier this week. (Good but a pretty typical American IPA as far as I'm concerned.)

"Double Bags"? 16 years 9 months ago #5

The beer with the two cows on it is called Double Bags, its from Long Trail Brewery in Vermont. Its pretty strong and bitter I didn't like it when i tried it in Vermont last March.

Just back from Florida on hols and I tasted loads of American ones, Sam Adams Cherry Wheat (loved it), Flying Dog Pale Ale (Good), Sea Dog Bluepaw Blueberry Wheat (Good), SN Summer Ale (Ok), Gorden Biersch Kolsch (Good), Otter Creek Copper Ale (Good), and my favourite SN Pale Ale, now for the detox...

Great beer, there is a rumor that some stone beer will be making it over this side of the pond!

Norrebro and Biertourist sound like you got to try some savage beers!
