Gin is an evil drink !

I'm partial to the occasional dry martini the dryer the better (i.e. only the tiniest amount of vermouth)with a twist of lemon or lime zest.
It is difficult sometimes to tell one gin from another, it is not something usually tasted widely like whiskey etc.. but an intresting experiment can be to taste a few neat,side by side,when you taste it that way the differences can become quiet apparent. We once did a gin tasting at home, amongst 3-4 of us we had about 7 or 8 different gins poured them out neat and tasted them blind.It really was an eye-opener the range in style and quality were vast. I think the consensus was that Bombay came out on top followed by Millars so since then I usually just plug for Bombay as the best all rounder. I don't think Hendricks was in the mix that time so maybe it's time for a rematch.

What do you reckon, silenus maybe a gin tasting one night in the B&C

I'd be on for that as i don't know a whole lot about gin, thats Máiré' job. <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->

I'll see if i can source some samples to give a decent variety.
