The Chocolate Stout is partially responsible for my very sore head this morning. I loved it, had it for Desert last night.

I was really shocked to discover it was 10%. Carries it off well.

Mr 9BR did not share my enthusiasm. Said it was too chocolate truffle. Although I loved it, I cannot imagine it is one that I would have too many of. (my head agrees)

As an aside, I was not keen on the label. Brooklyn have such strong branding, I am surprised they deviated from it for this bottle.

Their Local No. 1 is even less conformist:

loved the black choc stout. for anybody in cork who wants to give it a try it's available in the abbots ale house. along wth a new <!-- s:?: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_question.gif" alt=":?:" title="Question" /><!-- s:?: --> version of Kwak which i think is 8.4% instead of 8

I thought the frowning, disapproving eyes of the staff in Drink on Manor Street may have soured it due to their demeanour, but thankfuly not

Deary me. I've always found them to be among the most helpful and beer-enthusiastic of offie staff in Dublin.
