Directors Bitter 17 years 10 months ago #1

When I lived in London Directors was my favourite main stream cask. I use to buy it in bottle in Abbotts Ale house but it seems to have dissapered in recent months, is it still imported into this country

Sorry I can't answer your question, but it just occured to me that there may be a recipe for it in Clone Brews[/url:3pky1smy] if you can't get it in Ireland any more, and have to make something approximating it.

I say approximating, as the few recipes n1mbus and I tried from the book were not really near the originals at all <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

I didn't realise it ever made it to our shores. It's my Dad's favourite tipple from back home, and I enjoyed a few pints of it last year while in London.

First time I saw it was in the Bridge Street Wetherspoons in Belfast. I ordered it purely for the Alan Partridge associations.

Bottled Directors Bitter has just become available in Sainsburys... i had a bottle a few weeks ago but wasn't overly impressed.
