Just a quick note on an Tigh Bric. I'll try write something more substantial when I get a chance. The owner Adrienne was very hospitable and the pub is really great. perfect place to spend a wet July day...in front of a turf fire drinking some nice ale. the general gist is she wants to control the quality of food and beverages served over her counter...this i must say she does brilliantly. the food was superb and the beer was as good. the slow food movement is the phrase she used and all food is within 12 miles...all local and cooked so well we never ate anywhere else for two days.
Adrienne showed me the small brewery, a capacity of 400l. on tap at the time was a dark ale. very tasty. at this stage that will be gone and a pale ale will be on tap. there is a quick turn over and the products seems to be doing well locally, with a partner pub also selling it. all brews are conditioned and then placed in casks and hand pumped at the bar. the price was also quite reasonable at i think about 3.80-3.90 a pint but probably too many pints of it deleted that info from my brain.
it is reassuring that your beer is brewed and kegged only 40m from the pub.
Adrienne was not too keen on me posting an article but i may get back onto her to see has this changed.
She had the attitude that it is slowly slowly and they don't really want the publicity just yet until they really get going but I think they are making a good product and deserve the business but i think the possiblity of getting the casks further afield will not happen for a long time.
will post some snaps when I move house (again) so it may be a while before I get down to a proper article...but I would certainly recommend the pub and B&B, the food and of course the local Brew!
