Seaweed Saison from Dungarvan 11 years 3 weeks ago #1

Tried a few of the new Saisons this year from Irish Craft breweries with mixed feelings on their offerings.
Had a pint on cask at Merrys, Dungarvan and its really something special, a collaboration brew with Nøgne Ø brewery in Norway, its probably the best beer I have tasted in 2015 from an Irish brewery in that its clean initially from lager malt and an element of hop bitterness but very cleverly and not in an overpowering way uses salt profile from dillisk to let you know after 30 secs you are drinking a salty beer. It was an amazing accompaniment with food.
Dungarvan have certainly raised the bar.
Now where did I put my Saxa <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

Cheers! Glad you enjoyed it.
I was in Merry's myself last night. If I had known you were there I would have said hello/have a beer with you.

Just picked a bottle of it up myself in from the drinkstore. Looking forward to trying it

I'm heading to Dungarvin tomorrow, is there any off licence in the town I could pick up a bottle?

Try Spar on O'Connell St., or Eurospar on the causeway.

I picked up 12 at the spar locally known as walshes, they had 5 or 6 left <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->
