Look what I have found in Buenos Aires..... 18 years 3 months ago #1

These guys[/url:3ieg7wa7] are making awesome beers over here in Argentina. I found a pub/cafe around the corner from my hostel which has a wide range of their stuff in stock, I´ve had their Imperial Stout (absolutely delicious) and Scotch Ale so far, with designs on their Barley Wine, Kolsch and special edition Tripel later this evening. In fact I may go straight to the horses mouth and go to their own bar....
There´s also another microbrew selection in the bar, I can´t remember the name of it, they had a nice "Roja" - red -ale I presume which was quite like the Franciscan Wells´ Red.
And yet of course despite the availability of this delicious nectar, everywhere you see locals drinking Smella and Heineshite in an attempt to be ´sophisticated´.....
Seeya in a week or so, my time is coming to an end....

An Irish-style stout, at 7% ABV. Chance'd be a fine thing.

How about 7.5%

Or even 8%, the Special Export. By the pint, though?

Is Foreign Extra even sold in pubs here?

Well the Cream Stout is delicious! The porter is not too bad, slightly light in taste, but still a decent drop. I came away with a couple of bottles of take out too, Kolsch, Barley Wine, Pilsner, the Pilsner is really nice.

I´ll be going back to get a shot at the Honey Ale which doesn´t come in bottles, and the tripel.

Ken,

Go to Plaza Dorrego in San Telmo, where there is at least one brew pub. Also, there is a brew pub at Recoleta. I also found some good beers in BA. I thought that the generally available Quilmes was quite nice, certainly better than the megaswill you mention.

Cheers, Les
