It would be oxidised and infected after a week, a but would be great to serve at party[/quote:2ndhogoh]

Yeah, you've got to run through the whole keg in 3 days, tops, in my experience - which isn't usually a problem in the kind of places you see those pumps.

Also wouldn't solve the OP's need for natural fermentation, unless it was used with key kegs (which Vanguard does.)[/quote:2ndhogoh]

Come to think of it, if you used one of those on a key keg you wouldn't have the oxidation/infection problems, because the air you pump in never comes in contact with the beer.

The key Kegs aren't that cheap, 13 sterling or so for a disposable system. uUnless you could cobble together a home brew version

We're not using Keykeg anymore due to losses, a couple of pints on each keg, it all add u[p,

With regard to Beer Engines for cask, talk to Dec in Otterbrews, he has a good stock of these and can rent them if needed

Did I really say keg? Tut tut! Of course I meant cask! Thanks for the suggestions, will get onto them.

Would we need a hand pump? Surely we could just put them up on a table and bang a tap into the barrel? Father in law ran pubs in England for 30 years so I'd leave all that part to him!

Jazzag just open the the top or put a porus spile in and gravity serves it. Easy as <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
