Yeah, you've got to run through the whole keg in 3 days, tops, in my experience - which isn't usually a problem in the kind of places you see those pumps.

Come to think of it, if you used one of those on a key keg you wouldn't have the oxidation/infection problems, because the air you pump in never comes in contact with the beer.

Did I really say keg? Tut tut! Of course I meant cask! Thanks for the suggestions, will get onto them.
Would we need a hand pump? Surely we could just put them up on a table and bang a tap into the barrel? Father in law ran pubs in England for 30 years so I'd leave all that part to him!
