HomeBrewWest Speidel Agents for Ireland 13 years 11 months ago #1

We just got the Speidel agency for Ireland.

We will try to match (or at least come close to) their online pricing, even though VAT is 6% higher here; it will come down to shipping costs. Either way, it will be more cost effective to buy from us. Let us know if there are any Speidel products you would like us to stock.

Also we have just reordered from Brouwland, but there is still time to add additional products you would like us to stock (we have ordered lots of yeast propogation equipment, and some new liquid yeast strains).

Good call Brian!

If like the mills you need someone to take one of these off your hands to test I would be glad to take on the burden!!

But all joking aside, I hope to be in the market for one in a couple of months and am glad that you are going to try your best to match their pricing! It's always good to be able to keep the business local!

We have decided to sell the Speidel Braumeisters here at the same price as on their web site; this means you will save up to 50 euro in shipping costs from Germany.

This is great news Brian!

I have started a thread; here[/url:2xrjvw21] to gauge interest in the BM systems.

This is NOT a group buy as such just a sign up for you to gauge interest in a large shippment of BMs from Germany

Lets see who is interested and then you will get an idea of an initial Beoir order that may attract a volume discount/shipping discount

Cheers

Thanks Will, we can cover the cost of shipping the 20 or 50 litre units from Germany; they are high value items so we are prepared to absorb the shipping costs. Initially, we probably won't hold many (if any) of these in stock, and will just drop ship them from Germany.

Where your thread would be very useful is in guaging interest in all the add ons; these are relatively low value items and the cost of shipping them individually would be prohibitive.

If you can get enough interest, we can order one or more pallets of these items from Speidel and hold them is stock here. Deposits would not be necessary, we would just stock them if we felt there would eventually be a demand for them.

They have some interesting bits and pieces including steel minikegs with bottom and top plugs which can't be got anywhere else asaik.

After shipping costs and the mad Irish VAT rate of 23%, we have very low margins on Speidel products, but if you can russle up interest for a few 20 / 50 litre units, we can probably do a further discount of a few percent.

I would would certainly want to "eventually" order the extras/shinny bits/bells and whistles for the 50l system.

But in order to get the initial massive big box past SWMBOB I would initially order what I consider the essentials i.e The 50l machine plus the smaller 25l malt tube.

I have a copper coil ( but love the shinny SS Spidel one - may get one later )

Lagging jacket - again Woodies Aluminised bubble wrap will do for the time being.

The copper top - no problem - I want one - but would order with some grains and wine kits so that the box can "sneak in under the radar!

The above 3 could easily add about €500 to the order and may be a prob with the finance committee!

I believe from people who have then that the Spidel tap 9a simple SS plug cock type thing) is a bit useless ( people syphon out the wort ) - it needs replacing with a decent ball valve or better still, a 3 part SS valve to a clover leaf connector.

Any way I will rattle the thread a bit and see where we are going

Cheers

Will
