Just wondering would it be possible for people to pop instore (online processing of orders would prob require too much site adjustment to render the trial unfeasable) with their own bags and say a custom order for grains (2.5kg of those, 200g of this, 150g of that, etc).

Even if maybe a single day in the month could be nominated as pic n' mix day?

Of course if all your grains come pre-packed then this suggestion is dead in the water.

And feck it in fairness who would begrudge ye a slight percentage charge for the hassle eh?

And going back to the nominated day (assuming a saturday), I'm sure some of your suppliers or other parties interested in your customer base would be only too glad to 'assist' you with the extra burden were you to 'decorate' your store in an appropriate manner <!-- s8) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cool.gif" alt="" title="Cool" /><!-- s8) -->

We could facilitate this. The only way we could do it would be to email in your order with quantities in advance, say 2 days as we are extremely busy in the shop most days and pack orders FIFO. We can bag any quantities of hop or grain, crushed or uncrushed. For grain lower amounts for example:

500g crystal is €1 euro
200g is 40 cents.
Surcharge of 5 cents per bag

Same would go for the hops.
Surcharge is 15 cents for silver alu pack bag.

That is absolutely perfect and more than fair regarding the notice and small surcharge.

Good call Rory, fair play to you Shane for facilitating this... Just a quick question re the hops, can we pick any hops and order in small quantities, like 25-30g? I've always wanted to try out a few hops to get to understand all of the different ones without having to purchase 100g of each!

Oh this is excellent!

HomeBrewWest will do it too, on Saturdays only (we are open 1.00 to 5.00). And you can crush your grains here too with our crusher.

We don't vacuum pack our own hops, which means you will have to take them away in ordinary food bags. I presume they will be used quickly, so this should not be an issue?

Pricing per gram will be as per the larger quantities so that 500 g will cost half the price of a 1 Kg bag that is split etc.
