Ok lads panic over.
I went out to the garden armed with a trowel to go digging.
All 3 cascades pushed up their 1st shoots today, it's like they new there was a shitstorm on the way if they didnt <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt="" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->
Meanwhile the fuggles is almost 3 feet high and I'd swear I can hear it growing if I listen closely.

You know its advisable to remove the first and maybe even second shoot that appears as the subsequent ones will have a much shorter "internodal distance" i.e. you will get a stronger shoot with more flowers.

Think of it more that the goal is to get a thick, bushy plant, rather than a tall one. Commercial growers pinch out the first shoot as it usually is the tallest, but doesn't produce any more hops than the other shoots.

Plenty of manure tea and some sort of clear plastic cloche ! You'll have more cascade hops than you can cope with !
