It works out at €60 euro a night ( less 20% for beoir ) which is quite an expensive course charge.

Now, I am being serious with these questions:

How much beer will be provided per head for the tasting?

Will there be a "take some for homework" option for further studying?

I assume that all the samples will be bottled?

I would be interesetd also in a post course "at home" testing kit:

36 bottles of beer at say €100 and a set of tasting notes

What do you think?

Good luck with the course - its great to see craft beer and food being pushed out into the catering trade / wider audience

And, Yes, I would be intested given some answers to the above

Cheers

Will

Correct me if I've been misled: it not something I know much about.

If the drinking of beer is your primary interest, spend the money in an off licence, not on a tasting course.

Price for this course is about right, similar courses in London are around £250-280.

If its tasting one is after, many short 90 minute courses are offered in UK at less than £30 a session where you can fly through a number of styles on a conveyor belt.

It depends what you want to get out of it, and as most Beoir members "know it all anyway", I doubt if this course would be much use to them - besides they would hijack the proceedings with questions about mash temperatures, boil efficiency and gravity <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

This sounds like a great course for the trade though, something to get pub and restaurant managers thinking outside of the box and hopefully they can take it home and share the knowledge with their staff - provided their suppliers have access to the great beers they would like to sell AND they can make a reasonable margin.

Good luck with the course John!
