Hi Paul,
Sorry, we had to stop it . . . it caused chaos with our packers.

I cornied this and bottled a few at the weekend. I got the finlandia bitter.
I used 23 litres of water with 1 kilo of beerkit enhancer.
Fermentation was tame enough. I left it for 2 weeks at average room temp, maybe slightly below (I never have the rad on in the room but you'd never be too cold in it - prob around 18/19deg).

I didnt take any measurements or anything... got a taste of it coming out of the fermenter and it tasted alright so early signs are good.

Well guys,
Anybody sink a few yet? We are waiting with baited breath.

Reports coming in to us for several of the kits are excellent. Hoping for the same here!

Yep, i had a couple of bottles last weekend.
They were....."nice" <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
Ah hard for me to describe - im no critique, but there wasnt any bad flavours from it.
I gave another couple of bottles to the uncle and he said they were...... "lovely" - but of course he'd say that free beer is always lovely!
I have 2 bottles left the rest is in the keg (which i haven't really been using yet) maybe ill bring the bottles to the next meetup in the B&C.

Had a few of the ales. Made with 500g extra light spraymalt + 1kg dextrose. My second ever brew.

They're going down very well - a bit of a crowd pleaser. I've had a lot of people around who "don't drink beer" but have tried it and said "actually, that's quite nice!".

It has a very "soft" taste, if that makes sense. Personally I would prefer it to have a sharper flavour but it's very very drinkable. It is also extremely clear, I tried some with the bottle tossed to mix in the sediment and I actually prefer it like that.

I'll be out to you in the next few days Brian - I'll bring you a couple of bottles. <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=":wink:" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->

made the Finlandia bitter with 1kg brew enhancer and some hop tea...brewed on 19-8-11 bottled in tap-a-draft 2-9-11. Tasted first time tonight. Result is ok. Coopers have nothing to worry about. No kit twang but a clean flavour alright which i could see be a favourite with some. taste is lighter than i would have expected. Not bad but lacks a bit of bite for me. Thanks again for the free sample sorry i couldn't say anything better.
