I have often wondered if we could set up a sort of swap shop on here for various spare ingredients. Say if you need a small amount of a grain and don't want to buy a whole bag or if a couple of small scale brewers could pool their resources and buy stuff together and divide it up etc . I'm sure the Dublin based members could make something like that work ?

well I was thinking of something like where people could put things they want on one list and things going spare on another ,rather then having to look through a load of posts ,something like free cycle or buy n sell .

it's probably a bit hard to do that on here I suppose ?

Freecycle is a thread-based board exactly like this. Just make it clear in your subject line what you need or are giving away. There's no looking through posts that way.
