I'll phone them later and update the post accordingly, interestingly the phone number is on the English site and it wasn't on the German site when I looked yesterday.

Ok I just phoned them in Germany, the English website does not have everything that is on the German one just yet as the English part, he said the only barrier to ordering off the German site is the language. He will and can send Co2 setups internationally.
So back to the original statement, it looks like you can do well off of having the "bisschen deutsch" at the moment, but they will deliver anything that is on the German website to Ireland, they just haven't transferred the whole catalogue yet.

Nice one Adeptus, by the way it's "auf" not "an" in that case

Question for your good self in Germany, is the homebrew there all completely all-grain? I went to the German sites hoping to be able to buy some good kits from Germany and disappointingly they all point back at the English kits that we get here. Do the Germans do homegrown kits at all? I'd be really interested in some of their recipes.

Thanks! In fact, my wife corrected me even further "[i:2i8wvsd5]Dies ist auf meine Geburtstags Wunschliste[/i:2i8wvsd5]" apparently. I'll never get the hang of this language. I should really think about a course. Lungual osmosis from a German wife clearly does not work!

I've no idea of the split between all grain, extract or kit brewing here. All I know, from an interview I saw with a homebrewer in Dortmund, is that there are about 50,000 homebrewers here! I don't know if that's an official figure, but considering you are supposed to register as a homebrewer here, that statistic must be available someewhere.

The kits I have seen on sale on the German sites have tended to be the Brewferm kits, but I'll have another poke around and see. I have yet to meet another home brewer.

When I worked in the bars there, I worked in one which was your typical trad german pub where we had "kegeln" and "schiessstand" down stairs and did stuff like Xmas "Gaense essen" and all that jazz, a lot of the older guys did their own "obstlers". They'd wait for the licensed distiller to pay his yearly visit and get all their stuff burned off, but I never remember speaking to beer brewers, apart from one who was a master brewer in the Gilde Brauerei, but he doesn't count on the homebrew front.
