I did a fair bit of research on pizza ovens @ a year ago - pulled down some free plans & what not from the net - a lot of the sites recommended the bread builders book[/url:2p1wlhut]

I have this at home - it's a good read - (haven't get to build it yet though !!)
you can borrow it any time - there's some good design sections in it - how to's - reasons for etc. and some interesting history & stuff[/quote:2p1wlhut]
That looks like an interesting book alright Damien (if you judge it by it's cover <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="" title="Rolling Eyes" /><!-- s:roll: --> ) would love to take a look

Sent from my phone, so excuse any bad spelling.

Haven't even priced the vermiculite yet. I intend to savage a lot of the red brick and cavity blocks. The firebricks for the hearth(90 needed) are expensive, about €2.70 each I think. If its expensive it'll just be a slower build to spread out the cost but it's something I really want to do. I have an idea for a roofed pizza oven and BBQ area where I can also brew(haven't mentioned that advantage to swmbo). It'll take some time for it all to get done but fingers crossed I wont be lookin at a 1/2 built pizza oven in 5 or 10 years time:)

Yep, not sure how the pergolas going to be but something along those lines. Did you build a BBQ? Thats something I'm looking for plans for but I want to build one that I can close the lid on, not just a 'grill' type of setup like most of the ones I see on youtube and the interweb...
