TOPIC:

Heading to Galway for the weekend; any recommendations on where I should go?
(Obviously the Oslo, but where else?)

Some mentioned some place called "Salt...something" that's supposedly owned by the Oslo people but located more centrally downtown.

The Salt House is an absolute must. Sheridan's on the Docks is lovely too. As always: link[/url:10ztm2gn].

Salt House is owned by the same people that own Oslo. Which is a good thing.

Im heading there myself next weekend, hopefully to buy a few hookers.

you can get hooker in Spanish arch which is right beside McDonaghs Fish n Chips! deadly double
(nearly as good as B&C and leo's)
If you want quicker soakage than that Tig Neachtain has a deadly Pizza place beside it
(they haven't had hooker though on my last two attempts!!)

The Townhouse bar around the corner from McDonaghs I really really liked. It's a bit kitsch but they have Galway Hooker and gave me an extra drop of whiskey when I got a whiskey!


Basically, "where to go in Galway?" answer: anywhere that has Galway Hooker <!-- s8) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cool.gif" alt="" title="Cool" /><!-- s8) -->
I refused to drink in places that didn't have it and left! I remember a place near the bus station that had Young's Double Choc in bottle and a few others but no Hooker. Can't remember the name.


Remember this though : Galway is a tourist town so you might get fleeced in a few places.

(though it's also a studenty town so you might end up getting the student experience!)
