Maybe they heard all the ICB publicity about homebrew and decided to get in on the act.

It does smack of recession lifestyle, but who cares?

The more people home brewing the better. Some will brew muck the first time round and never do it again, but more than a few will stick with it and demand different and better beer in the pub.

Would an article on how to and not to modify kit brewing be useful? Why adding extra sugar might not be the best plan. What types of sugar to add, stuff like that? Just to give people an easy step on from kit brewing to something more personal.
