In my experience, the pivotal issue is the food.

It's included in, and makes up a lot of the value of, the ticket price.

This works in the US where you've got a summer BBQ or Oktoberfest with bratwurst or whatever - Americans like to eat. <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->

The Irish, on the other hand, often spurn food in favour of another pint, so tough to say if they would feel like they got their money's worth sticking to beer alone.

Reuben I'm really just asking from a consumer/beer lover perspective. The behind the scenes stuff is all tbc.

No worries,

If it worked out then it could be pretty awesome.

I think with a €40 outlay you'd need meticulously managed consumer expectation, as in a full beer list well in advance, at least the first time out. That always seems to be a problem with Irish beer festivals: brewers don't seem to be keen on saying what they're bringing until the last minute.

But if you run it a few times successfully then, like the Copenhagen Beer Celebration, it'll sell itself.

Personally I'd have no problem at all paying €40 in advance if the beer was interesting (and ticker friendly) enough.

I think it could be great, are we talking all bottle or a combo of keg and bottles?
