Where to buy good scotch eggs 13 years 3 months ago #1

Do any delis or supermarkets make nice scotch eggs?

have a load of recipes, not sure I'm willing to put the effort in at the moment.

M&S used to do half decent ones; along with Melton Mowbray pork pies.

Incorporating extra pie related information: Andrew, that's damn near THE perfect reply to a post.

My arteries may not thank you for it, but what the hell!!!

I dunno that M&S ones are any better than Tesco's. They do the job but aren't, y'know, [i:nsslfqx1]craft[/i:nsslfqx1].

Love those M&S pies, though.

Every Christmas I make a giant pork pie based on a recipe from Gary Rhodes' New British Classics. It's a bit of work but absolutely worth it. A bit like beer.

From time to time, I make soft yolk quails scotch eggs. Time consuming but well worth it (especially if eaten while warm)
