Let's not drink any Diageo on Arthur's Day, and support smaller brewers!

I created the event page for a laugh but people are really getting into it! As it says in the description, you can do this at home, away from the crowds. Crack open a few tasty micro-brews and enjoy them more than all those other people will enjoy their Black Stuff.
Pass it on!

Budvar is not any way connected to Diageo.

Why not boycott all the supermarkets? They've closed more small shops than Diageo have breweries.

There's a very Dublin / East Coast centric outlook here. Most of the micros supply very little of their product outside of Dublin, that is business and I'm not complaining. Cork is in the unusual position of having 2 micros and also Elbow Lane. I have tried to do business with the micros and received the sum total of 3 replies. I supplied personal names and mobile numbers of publicans at the request of the micros and contact has never been made.

I support Irish products and am delighted to see alternatives and choice in our pubs but the micros would need to take their heads out of their bottoms and recognise that there is a market outside of Dublin. I know that this opinion is frowned upon here, but one micro I spoke to agreed with me.

Roll on the 27th. To Arthur!!

Me no likey negative campaigning and in the case of Diageo it's best to leave sleeping dogs lie.

They might hijack our awards ceremony like they may have done in the past to other awards nights whether well intentioned or not. (trying to cover myself here)

He and his beer are long since dead.
