Bearing in mind it will be at least 9pm on a Saturday night (the schedule might be out the window by that stage) and there will be about 15 of us looking for good beer.

Galwegians, it's over to you...

not to mention RAG week, and France beating England, so anywhere with a big TV is likely to be packed.
Here's a map of venues selling Galway Hooker in the City Centre (hope I didn't miss any).
My vote would go to the Sheridan's on the Docks. A very fine pub, with great beer selection and friendly staff. I think you can ask for booking one of the rooms, but I don't know how.
My second guess would be the Cottage Bar, nice selection too, and it tends to be less crowded than venues in town.

Sheridans would be a great choice; it's not too far from the likes of Bierhaus/Massimo and it won't be as busy. They do great food but it will be finished by the time we get back...

Aidan mentioned "Tour food and beer", so hopefully that will see us through to the chipper.

The only suggestion I would have is Monroe's, cos it does lovely pizza, has Hooker and some bottled stuff, and is big enough that we should be able to find space. But it's years since I socialised in Galway so my knowledge of pubs is limited. I'd also like to see what the Bierhaus is like. Generally though, as long as it's fairly central and a bit lively (just so my mates aren't completely bored if all there is to do is listen to a bunch of beer geeks talk shop <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt="" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->) I'm not really pushed.
