Hi Will, Bringing commercial beers to a homebrew meet up goes against the idea of what we offer the Beoir members. While I can turn a blind eye to the gallons consumed @ each meet up, my employer expects me to run the business as he wishes and to treat all customers equally. This means that I could not allow anyone to bring their own beer to the bar, except for the purpose of encouraging homebrewing, and/or comparisons and tastings.

I hope this doesn't affect your view of the Bull & Castle.

Certainly not Geoff <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

We will be there with some beer bread, JG fittings and looking forward to some tasty brews <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

The beer I was slagged about was an 8% King Cobra beer that I got in Musgraves for €20 a case of 6 * 0.75 cl bottles. For a hi-gravity lagerish beer it was ( to my Welsh palate ) quite an interesting beer.

Has any one else tried this beer?

And, yes, its brewed in Burton-on-Trent and not India! But I think B-i-T knows a bit about brewing

I will bring a bottle for you ( as thanks for the great cheese experience ) 'coz: SWMBO loves the atmosphere in the B&C and she will be ( fingers crossed driving )

See you tomorrow

Will

Ps: SWMBO asks any more cheese <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

Damn. Finally, walking hours in the Irish rain (or rather staying hours in a hermetically closed dubliner bus) gave me a cold. Not going (and probably drinking tea for a couple of days now...)

Looking forward to the Against the Grain meeting next month now <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:( --> .

Gotta choose your battles, so saving my strength for Belfast.

I will, however, sneak in for a swiftie of Bengal Lancer...

A good night tonight... met a few new faces and some nice beer and brew talk.
I particularly liked Jacob's AIPA and Norrebro's Rogue yeast ale.
Looking forward to the next one already <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
