Belfast Beer & Cider Festival: 17-19 November 2011 14 years 6 months ago #1

CAMRA NI have just published the beer[/url:324r6t13] and cider[/url:324r6t13] lists for the Belfast festival.

A good showing as usual from the NI breweries, including a new one: Ards Brewing.

Two Irish ciders as well: Toby's and DJ's. The latter some of you may have tried at the All-Ireland festival last month.

Bit surprised to see nothing from this side of the border.

I think, basically, it's a pain in the arse to sort out the customs and excise. As far as I know there are no bonded warehouses dealing with alcohol from the Republic. Not sure how the Hilden festival works. Possibly best not to enquire <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->

Hopefully that'll change and the northern market will be more open to southern beers generally. There certainly seems to be an interest from retailers.

All the GB beers are sourced centrally from a single distributor.

Thanks for the update John. I thought it might be something like that, but did note the Irish beers at Hilden.

I know a few unapproved roads. It'll be just like the eighties all over again.

Hmmm, last bus from Belfast is 11pm, arriving 1:25am. Then the Nitelink home.

Haven't been on a Bus Éireann bus in 10 years. Are there toilets on them now?
