Summer Events (with Irish craft beer) 18 years 9 months ago #1

Thought I'd let folk know about two events that are coming up soon that might be of interest to those who like Irish craft beer.

The first event, I haven't decided whether to go to yet:

[u:1xf2mmrg]Irish Green Gathering[/u:1xf2mmrg]
"This August it will be all things green and sustainable at lovely Woodbrook Estate, under the Blackstairs Mountains, Co. Wexford. This brand new, non-profit three day festival will be run on renewable energy only and will be full of Eco friendly events and fantastic music."

The Carlow Brewing Company will be supplying their draught stout, ale, and wheat beers for the weekend.

The second event I've my tickets already bought:

[u:1xf2mmrg]Slow Food Spit Roast Feast [/u:1xf2mmrg]
July 22nd @ The Church in Macreddin Village, Brooklodge Hotel, Aughrim, Co.Wicklow @ 2.30pm.
"Ted Berner from ‘Wildside Catering’ will be spit roasting a whole Wicklow Lamb for our summer feast. Check out the menu for a full listing of Wicklow Foods available, all drinks & wine included in the price."

The Brooklodge Hotel itself has its very own microbrewery and I for one am looking forward to sampling whats it got to offer...Spit-roasted lamb, a cold craft beer, sunshine...that's the dream....

Sounds yummy.

I'm sure there was a post about this on here a while back which mentioned that Brooklodge/Actons no longer brew their own beer. They contract out to Messrs Maguires (or maybe they take some of Messrs regular stock).

Spit roasted lamb, mmmmmm.

I question the eco-friendliness of an event that isn't accessible by public transport. What's the betting that a significant proportion of those who show up to celebrate all things green do so in an SUV?
[size=59:3d0r0vm8]Not that I'm just saying it because I'm bitter that I can't go or anything.[/size:3d0r0vm8]
