Delighted your ifrst meet went well - always a bit of a worry before the first met howit will work out.

Always great to meet a few light-minded beer enthusiasts and brewers!!!! !

Yes I would say the Connaught branch are off to a good start. We overcame the rain, floods and recession blues to get together at last. With an impressive turnout barkar, ian myself and the entire staff of home brew west and a number of brewers friends interested in getting started. The bar man was a little taken back at first at the sight of our own bottles stacking up on the table but a quick call to the manager sorted everything and they provided us with a good supply of glasses and an opener (whoops!! some oversight there!!) They were anxious we didn't leave with bottles in case someone thought they were doing off license sales so we did our best to comply and empty all the bottles before we left!! On the night we had a good selection of kit beers to taste Pilsner, Bitter, Weiss Beer and even a Lidl Cider however the star of the show was Barry's Weiss beer which he humbly felt was not up to scratch but the rest of us loved. I even managed to smuggle a couple of bottles home and am currently hiding the last one from her indoors (wish she would stick to the wine!). Anyway lots of good tips were shared and a most enjoyable time was had by all and we plan another meet in January. So we are off to brew up in time for the next session. Got some good photos on my phone but can see to get the off it so I will post them when I do! Anyway get brewing if you are going to get to the next one Looking forward to it already!

Twas a grand evening. Looking forward to the next one as it was nice to meet people who love beer as much as I do.

Really enjoyed your Weisbeer Barry!

And thanks for the tips for my first brew.

Glad to hear it went well. Talking about beer on an internet forum is all well and good, but there really isn't any substitute for meeting and sharing some beers.

Good start, Venue good despite the mix up at the start once sorted. I went on to the salt house and the bierhaus after , great selection of beers there too. Some of the kit beers were very good well matured etc. Tom i have already quaffed your brewferm blanche you gave me very tasty indeed and despite the warning no bottle bombs . Good luck with the extract brew nothing to it. Ian i hope your bitter turned out well , tasted good even without the carbonation.
Got home and brewed on Monday(mash) and Tuesday (boil) 20 litres of stout. Overnight mashes way eassier to do than all one night. Should be well ready by january meet i might have a red ale on as well!

Btw i think we were right about the maris otter bags along the back wall in the oslo, i think they are just there for show(one of the bar man more or less implied it) although brew house seems the real deal , looks nice piece of kit although bit too big for my back kitchen operation

Hi Guys

Just wondering if there are any meets planned for the future? Seems the first one went well.
