According to this post[/url:3vi3zdth] the Franciscan Well beerfest (Oktoberfest) is starting on Friday.

Nothing on our Calendar for it though so if anyone has more details then please update.

Franciscan Well Oktoberfest Friday 23rd, Sat 24th and Sunday 25th October, Friday from 5 p.m. and Sat and Sunday from 2 p.m. I think.

Have seen adverts re smae listing German, Polish, Russian beers etc.

Same as other years I imagine - in the past there were some good belgian beers on draught but not sure this year.

And of course the regular Franciscan selection which last week-end included Boh and Kenmare beer. Always a good location for a few enjoyable beers on a long week-end.

Popped in yesterday afternoon for a few.

The highlight for me was the Doom Bar on cask presented by C&R Drinks. Had two lovely pints of this most tasty drink. Have had it in bottle before but thought from the cask it was really good.

There was also a Bavarian style unfiltered Lager and Wheat Beer which I think originated from White Gyspy. These were also enjoyable but other than these there was nothing spectacular in the way of new or different beers. Good range of bottles but the same range as in the Abbots off licence usually.

Also had a tasty pint of Rebel Red!!

Yeah I had the Doom too. Nice. I likes the White Gypsy Bavarian Lager and the wheat wasnt bad.Boh - he house Bavarian lager was interesting too.

There seemed to be a theme running as there were a lot of unfiltered beers...just an excuse to be cloudy? Or like me does anyone care as long as it was tasty.

AlSO

I got in early but by the time I left..about 7.30 the queue was down the road just to get in.

I had a pint of Boh down in the well a few weeks ago, its lovely!!!! Was really surprised by it to be honest, I was expecting something a little less hoppy <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="" title="Rolling Eyes" /><!-- s:roll: -->
