I know there's a recession and all, but is it really that much cheaper to grow your own Christmas Dinner? Surely Turkey and Ham are not THAT expensive?

Ah no, only joking. Delighted to hear you rescued one from the pound. SWMBO is very keen on rescues etc - it's shocking to see how many beautiful animals are left to rot, unwanted. Well done you.

Hope a good time was had by all tonight (last night). I was still stuck at work by the time all of you were long bound for home. Sounds pretty bad until you figure in the 6 time zones between here and there. Still can't say you didn't have the better end of the deal.

LADS, i forgot to bring out the MorrisseyFox brew last night. Now, i doubt it will last until the next tasting session, so i need someone to come in and sample it, and give a review here(as this was the condition of it being left with me).
I have 2 bottles, any takers

I would be delighted to take a bottle Geoff. Thing is, when? I expect Mr. Nut can easily pop by at lunch time, so I'm sure he'll take a bottle or two for a taste.

Last night was great craic, slthough it ended far far later than I though, mainky due to Séan suggesting one last Alt in the Porterhouse. I couldn't hack it.

As always, it's great to taste other peoples beers and get honest feedback. One of mine that I thought was quite nice didn't go down as well on the flavour stakes as I thought, and the Pale Ale got better commetns than I thought (it has developed in the bottle during the voyage I suspect ).

I really liked Kieron's IPA and Thom's Industrial Porter, and well done to Kevin for bringing his infected beer in. It was quite sour and shocking after the other sweeter beers before it, but actually, I think you could drink it. Séan and Thom certainly had a good lot while deciding exactly what happened to it. This is a great way to learn for everyone. And in fact, I learnt that I had a good palate for oxidised flavours (according to Thom who is hypersensitive to these things).

Thanks everyone for a great night. These are the things I miss about the ICB community.

It was definitely an evening for the hopheads: four very good, very hoppy and very different pale ales from Kenmc, Adeptus, N1mbus and JoeK. And the closest clone I've ever met in a homebrew: Silenus's Schneider-Weisse knock-off, which just needed a smidge more body.

That was Thom's Plain Old Porter, btw, not the Industrial. The Plain Old is much easier drinking.

The last bottle of Industrial was consumed before you arrived. Sorry There was only one though, and it was a small Orval bottle.
