I was talking to a lad from Bord Bia about this a few weeks back. He said they're hoping to get all the Irish Craft breweries on board. He mentioned Hooker, Messrs, LL and he said some more too (he couldn't remember the other names).

Sounds good. I won't be going to Copenhagen, so this seems like a good alternative.

No Copenhagen for me either, so this sounds like a good one to aim for.

Irish Craft brewer representation 17 years 9 months ago #24

The event we wished for has now been granted but only the usual cliche of members have been included. We as an Irish company have been told we are not welcome on the basis we are not wasting our money brewing in Ireland. We are an Irish company who have outsourced a small part of our operation yet we promote the Irish Craft Brewing industry to the hilt. Our sales probably exceed some of the companies invited to Farmliegh but obviously that's not enough. With all due respect to sall concerned Bord Bia need to be educated in what is Irish Craft Brewing and what is not. We will be heere in 3 years time because our beer is good, many of the Farmleigh stooges will not because their beer not acceptable to a commercial audience. I suggest the Farmleigh event should incorporate a 'fringe' event for so called Irish Craft Brewers as it will be a once off selling 'event'type beers once off. No commercial reality seems to exist in this space at all. No wonder we have no sponsors in this space. Good luck chaps, from a very disappointed fellow enthusiast.
