We decided on suggesting this location for a visit following the piece in "Beer and Cuider in Ireland" about the bar and the fact that it apparently has quite a good range of beers of different styles and if it has survived this long without serving draught it msut be doing something right.

Bus times from Cork are 1445, 1530, 1645, 1800 and 1900 hrs.
Journey time 50 mins approx.
Return buses at 1900 and 1945. I thought in the summer tiemtable there was a return bus at 2100 hours but will check same closer to the time.
Apparently bar onlu opens about four so that restricts time we can meet at.
Other options are if people would like to stay over in Kinsale it gives them ample time to book bnb or hostel (Dempseys is cheap and ok) or if enough ppl willing to share cab or minubus back ot the city atlater time we could book same in advance. We can see about this closer to the time.

Sorry BITR if it does not work out for you timewise but you could consider the overnight option - I am sure the good people of Kinsale would lvoe your company!

Lets see how this evolves. If possible I hope to do a reckie in the meantime.

I will try to make it ...the date is good for me. It would be worth pricing a mini bus / cab back to city we could make our own way down / car pool and just order a mini bus from cab co.. asked one of the lads from that neck of woods roughly a cab back is 40 and a mini bus-cab 10 a man ...

Checked with the Harbour Bar in the meantime. They normally open at 6 p.m. but could open earlier for groups by prior arrangement so we can see in next few weeks.

There is also the small other matter that if Munster get to the final of the Heineken Cup it would be on Saturday 17th May so if that was the case we might have a conflict of interest and have to change dates so we will have to see how the game on Sunday week goes! Who does not say that good sports and good beers are not inextricably linked!!!
