I'd recommend a visit ... while the festival will be intimate (don't be expecting something like the events hosted by Fran Well), there's a nice vibe and PJ usually has music (& sport) on a Saturday - Kavanaghs is a great spot!

Off peak day return Heuston - Port Laoise is only €19. Online is more expensive.

That's not a bad price,
JJ Kavanaghs also go from outside ulster bank too. Think they are 12 euro return.

Adamstown station is a 5 minute drive from my house (god bless Bertie), same trains as from Heuston, but about €17 return. Worth it for the lack of hassle.
