I'll be setting sail for the Black Pearl on Saturday evening. Any takers?

Drink it or lose it.

I might pop in, but it'd be late, as I'm on-call and couldn't safely drink until 21:30 when, frankly, if there's any calls they can wait til the new person comes on at 22:30

Didn't I complain to you before about the lax on call set up in your hospital? I am slowly being worked to death with my on call routine.

Well, I'm not in a hospital, I'm in the National Blood Centre, so we're only on-call for reference cases for emergency investigations, and to issue blood and platelets.

We don't have the opportunity to earn as much as hospital on-call staff do

(But basically, I'm on-duty 11am-4pm, and on-call 4pm-10:30pm. Most of what we get are requests for platelets, so if I leave at 9:30pm, unless I get a call straight away, or it's desperately urgent, it's not worth coming back to issue the platelet as by the time I get back to the lab the person starting at 10:30 will probably be in)
