River Horse Hop Hazard Pale Ale 16 years 4 months ago #1

Picked up a couple of bottles of this today from the Drinkstore. Was surprised when pouring it to discover it was really, really dark! Actually, I reckon it's actually their Belgian freeze winter ale in the wrong bottle! Anybody else have this happen?

I had exactly the same surprise during the week. Described as an american pale ale, but looks like a weissbier or porter. However I have to say I thought it was lovely.

I also have a bottle of their Hop-A-Lot-A-Mus <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: --> looking forward to trying this at the weekend.

Beware the hop-a-lot-amus! I had a bottle of this lastnight, and it blew my tastebuds completely. Do you remember that scene in the simpsons where homer eats the ultimate sour lemon sweet..... like that!

After the initial shock, it was fantastic, although i'm only guessing cos I still can't taste anything!

Are you maybe thinking of the "Lemon of Troy" episode where the famous Springfield lemon tree is stolen and hidden in Shelbyville? That scene where one of the Shelbyville guards bites into a lemon to rub it in Homer's face is classic. Mouth puckering hilarity

Also a quality episode, but the one I was thinking of is the gummy venus de milo one.
