O'Hara's spotted in Chicago 17 years 1 month ago #1

I stopped by a local mega-grocer, Woodman's by name (not a bad outfit, BTW, best craft brew selection I've ever seen in a grocer, and employee-owned to boot) and found O'Hara's Stout and Red on the shelves. After lugging all those ^#@& bottles of O'Hara's in the checked bags through airports and hoping the baggage handlers didn't overwhelm my careful packaging, it shows up on shelves about 3 km from my house. Anyway, now I have the materials at hand to prove that the Irish are quite well capable of brewing a damn sight better that that joint at St. James Gate. Maybe gods exist after all. Kudos to Carlow Brewing, too!

Well isn't that typical.

Nice to know that Carlow Brewing Company beers can be found so far afield.

I'd heard they were available on both coasts. Good to see they're making their way inland.

But how will they play in Peoria?

I was in Vermont in March (highest amt of microbreweries in US supposedly) and there in the smallest store in Killington was all 3 of O'haras beers, great to see. Didn't buy it though, too busy trying all the local ones. Their website is pretty basic though, the barman in Franciscan Well said he also heard of it in Croatia..
