Ventured down yesterday afternoon to check out the latest addition to the porterhouse family.
It opened in the previous location of the the sheaf of wheat in coolock village.
Outside is nothing too fancy but inside is very impressive.
Seating is set out in more a restaurant layout rather then pub.
Menu is decent and can highly recommend the belly pork.
Beer wise the taps are a bit disappointing. No porterhouse beers in yet. Rebel red and SNPA on draught is about as exciting as it goes but they have a well stocked bottle menu. The majority of people were on the usual hino/miller/coors.
Was talking to a guy behind the bar and they will be changing the taps in rotation to find out what best sells. No plans for cask yet.
Looks like a nice pub but can't see it becoming the craft beer oasis out this side of the city. A nice pub for a nice meal would be my way of seeing it.
