New porterhouse pub opening soon? 12 years 11 months ago #7

Plan on dropping in some time over the weekend so will keep posted.

I read in the Sunday Times business supplement that the Porterhouse group hope to turn the CHQ building in the IFSC into a working brewery with pub and restaurant. They also want to create an area modelled on the English Market in Cork selling food products and fresh fruit and vegetables. This would be great. But the article went on to say that they are currently the underbidder for the property.

Its hard to imagine that it took €50m to renovate the building in the Great Irish Boom and now its on sale for a paltry €10m..

Ahhhh. I'd heard that the Porterhouse were looking to move the brewery closer to the city centre. I guess that explains it. That would be a fantastic location for a shiny show-brewery and pub.

Not a clue. I'd say they could comfortably fit all they currently have into CHQ.
