Was in this evening. ICB on tap was Helvick, Hooker, Metalman, Dark Arts, Rascal's Ginger Porter and Barrelhead Weiss, Pale Ale and Porter. Metalman was €5.40 a pint.

I liked the place. Mixed crowd, lots of space, neither fusty nor pretentious.
Couple of questions for you, though:
[list:3pt2nfdz]How different are Barrelhead beers from what's in Sweetmans? (Same brewer, correct?)[/list:u:3pt2nfdz]
[list:3pt2nfdz]Is that expensive for Metalman PA? I don't even know anymore...[/list:u:3pt2nfdz]
[list:3pt2nfdz]Any thoughts on freshness/serving skill, etc.?[/list:u:3pt2nfdz]

I dislike the layout of the place: it's just too packed with unnecessary furniture. And the quirky mismatched seating is awkward and uncomfortable. I doubt I'm the target demographic, mind.

No, what I meant was - didn't Barrelhead's brewmaster design Sweetman's beers? Or do I have that wrong? Is Barrelhead new recipes or essentially rebadges?
What [i:3iqobbid]I[/i:3iqobbid] meant was, I'm pretty sure they're rebadges. Rob is the brewer for Sweetman's, yes, as well as being the owner of Barrelhead.
