However, the off-license in Supervalu has a limited enough selection (although the Frau Dr. was happy to see Young's Chocolate Stout there). Any good off-licenses in the area for craft?

I take it I'm unlikely to find anything from the micros in any of the local pubs ??

Ah you're in luck - one of the best craft beer off-licences in the country is just down the end of the Howth Road: McHugh's (on Kilbarrack Road). They also have a branch on the Malahide Road in Artane. And Tesco's up at Clarehall have an small selection of mostly English beers at 5 for €10.

As regards pubs, it's not so good. The same family that own the above mentioned off-licence have a little restaurant (handily also called McHugh's) opposite The Cedars in Foxfield - they might carry some of their beers but it's a long time since I was there so not sure. Good food though!

Hey, I live I Raheny too, great neighbourhood. Welcome to the Northside Riviera. What part do you live in, I'm on Watermill Road.

The Supervalue used stock the O'Hara's and Porterhouse ranges, but even I never thought of buying there when you had McHugh's not too far away. So the craft beer vanished. None of the pubs stock any craft, but you can be lucky with the McHugh's restaurant. Last time I was in they only had a limited selection but there was O'Hara's IPA so I was fine.

Incidentally, I'm also from Portlaoise too.
