Schooners yay or nay? 14 years 6 months ago #1

The Australian schooner beer measure (2/3 of a pint) has been legalised in the UK. It's bizarre that a glass size is regulated.

These smaller measures (schooners, pots, midis etc) make sense in Australia because of the heat. Do they have a role in the UK or Ireland ?

I seem to recall this was championed by Brewdog. I do think a schooner of, for example Jaipur probably make sense.

They're perfectly legal here and always have been. It's not a yay or nay situation.

It really won't effect me at all, unless they do away with pint glasses

We've been using Klein's which are 330ml, for over 4 years now. Most people don't get that they are the same size as along neck beer, but others appreciate having more than a glass (@ 284ml) but less than a pint. It's even better for the people who are in to try as many beers as possible without having to drink form a mini pint glass.

I say Yay

In some parts of the UK the [i:3m5a3qtv]style [/i:3m5a3qtv]of glass is even stipulated.
