That's great news! I will be visiting the Bierhaus in September. Bloody hard to track down O'Hara's on tap. I was in a pub in Carlow last Friday, and asked if they had O'Haras in a bottle; I was met with a blank stare and disapointment. An it is brewed about a kilometre from where we were standing.

I was in north-east France last year where you can't move for top-notch craft brewers, where the shops are full of amazing local beer, where the local tourist board produces a [i:30hfu13b]Route des Bieres[/i:30hfu13b] map, and where the cafés have nothing but Kronenbourg and Stella on tap . <!-- s:x --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_mad.gif" alt=":x" title="Mad" /><!-- s:x -->

I had the same experience there, not a pub in the town sells the stuff, we were directed five miles out of town by the brewery itself to get a pint on draft, which wasn't an option. So I went for my regular tipple of Coors Light instead; practically the same thing.

I made the call to the brewery in the trip to Carlow that Poc mentioned. It's very sad that O Hara's can't be had in its own town and gives you some idea of what microbreweries in Ireland are up against.

I am actually Poc's state appointed carer. I accompany him on all the trip he takes and often have to apologise for the ridiculous beer related statements he comes out with.
