Up in Carrick town on Sat for a stag , does anyone kno of any pubs who sell nice beers /craft beers. Used to go out to Rockin Robins the niteclub out the road when i was a youngster but that was along time ago...

The Oarsman has Galway Hooker and other bottled beers like Black Sheep etc from what I remember. Nice food there so would be nice spot for some grub and a few good beers.

Yeah carrick is stag & hen central these days - was dragged down in last march for one. Couldn't bloody move for all the stag and hen parties - not particularly nice to be honest, there were plenty of fights amongst the locals and some of the stags. Still - not much else going on in that mangy backwater, guess they have to get the money and fun in somehow.

As mentioned already though, the Oarsman do Hooker, so park yourself in there and you'll be fine. Sure no-one else will even remember if you were with them or not!

Oarsman is a great spot .

Most of the bars in Carrick are actually pretty good though , although I wouldn't say too many have Craft beers besides the Oarsman.

Cryans is Great for food too ( and Trad )

( I like the town , spent about 8 months working there , before they got Hooker in the Oarsman )

Good to know about the oarsman and cryans , staying in leitrim village but id imagine we will b in carrick at some stage

Any updates on Carrick on Shannon? Is the Oarsman still the way to go?
