Best of luck with the new venture, by coincidence I just applied for a job in Roscommon town. In the unlikely situation that I get it (it's not in my field so I'm not confident) you'll have at least one dedicated customer.

Will be in the vicinity of Roscommon for a wedding in November, look forward to swinging by and testing this out. Best of luck with this- hope it's successful. Could this be part of the Beoir manifesto? At least one pub per county selling Irish Craft Beer? (starting small and all that!)

Well done! Look forward to stopping in.

JJ Harlows: New Bar with Irish Craft Beers in Roscommon 15 years 4 months ago #11

I finally managed to visit JJ Harlow's on Saturday last. It is an excellent spot; very nice renovation of a 100 year old premises, friendly staff and great beer. They have Staropramen, Old Speckled Hen, Galway Hooker and "Harlow's Lager" on tap. I asked about the Harlow's own beer and the bar girl was fairly sure it came from Cork. It tasted quite like Bay Lager to me though and was quite drinkable. Any one know any more about this beer?

The place became very busy later on in the night; it seems to be the place to go in Roscommon town these days, though not sure everyone was there because of the great beer; plenty of Bulmers and the like on view! Well done to Brian and Caitlín on the pub though.

It is just across an alleyway from Jackson restaurant who also serve Galway Hooker, so I had a "seamless transition"!!
