Strong dark beer in Dublin 16 years 4 months ago #1

Some of the new range of Marks & Spencer beers have arrived in Dublin, including a grand total of [i:1t4nja8k]one[/i:1t4nja8k] of the British ales, namely the Cheshire Chocolate Porter (I didn't like it but MrsBeerNut thought it was great). It's €3.29 and all beers are 4 for 3. There's about five new lagers and the same number of ciders/perries. And a Belgian wheatbeer.

Far better value is Old Engine Oil in SuperValu Aston Quay, going for €1.99 a pop.

Sounds interesting, although if the Belgian wheatbeer is similar to the old one I though it was not that great

The M&S in the city centre in Belfast has pretty much the whole range at the minute. Some of the best before dates can be a bit short though, although that's maybe just M&S in general...

The best i've tried so far is the Cornish IPA...

I liked the Scottish Thistle Ale, and the Southwold Winter Beer. The latter is very close to Adnam's Bitter, which I love.
