suggested route 17 years 1 week ago #1

Im looking to organise a stag in dublin in aug/sept. My idea is to start in bull & castle and work up to the Porterhouse in Glasnevin. Could someone point me in a route via foot/ public transport taking in either pubs like messrs/ other porterhouse or just quality old dublin pubs ( saw the list in the other post...). My knowledge of the dublin pub scene is mainly built on going to matches....so i dont want anyone suggesting barrys hotel or the shakesphere !!!! thanks...
ps it will be a respectable lot of people not raving loonies with L plates etc,,,,I hope

It's a long time since I was at a stag night, but I would ask whay do you want to end up at the Porterhouse Glasnevin? I would suggest starting in Mssrs (easy for non-Dubs to locate), then walk to the Porterhouse (Parliament Street), divert across the Liffey to Sin É for one and end up at the Bull & Castle. People could easily divert to eat on the hoof, or at one of the pubs.

Let's see, I'd go Bull & Castle, Sin É, Porterhouse Temple Bar, The Palace, Messrs Maguire, Porterhouse Central, Stag's Head, O'Neill's of Suffolk Street and then hop on a 19A or 83 bus from College Green to Phibsborough.

porterhouse in glasnevein was just a point the actual stag suggested...but looking at where it is on dublinpubcrawl.net I think its a non runner...
so a better plan maybe a loop start and finish in B&C. Even at that 8 pubs would be a mighty feat....best keep potential geographic issues to a minimum...we southerners aint mighty good a the map reading or the book learnin

For the loop, there's B&C, Long Hall, Stag's Head, O'Neill's, Porterhouse Central, The Palace, Porterhouse Temple Bar, Sin É, B&C.

You could throw the Dice Bar in between Sin É and the B&C, if you feel you need an extra pub at that time.
