Hi John and friends,
Thanks for posting about this.
Probably picked a not so great weekend to introduce the sour beer on tap, as all the appreciators are elsewhere stimulating their taste buds and possibly wearing them out...
Anyhow, my co-worker and superior hates the BeerBera (and all sour beers for that matter, he's more of a peroni man) and has placed a bet with me that we'll have to give it all away as samples that are ultimately rejected in favor of something more conventional - and in one actual case a group left the bar because we've stopped stocking Menabrea.
Is Dublin not ready for sour beer, or is Enoteca Langhe jumping the gun by hoping that some enthusiasts will drop by and consume this rare bounty?
Anyhow, it's early days yet, and thanks for the interest that has been shown over the past few weeks, and thanks John for the great Montegioco review.
By the by, Ricardo the head brewer from Montegioco is going to be in Ireland from the 13th to the 17th of November, we will have a beer tasting in Langhe or the coffee shop across the way. Also, if ye were interested, I'd be happy to loan him out to Beoir or the Homebrew Club or both for an evening elsewhere?
He'll be bringing some of his Mummia Timorasso grape sour with him for the events.
Ricardo was Fermento Birra (something like Italy's equivalent of Beoir and an online beer magazine rolled into one) brewer of the year 2012. He's a good egg.
Let us know what you think sure.
