After what can only be described as tireless research on my part (and a slight hangover) I can report that craft beer options in westport has made some serious leaps since the recent beer festival.

West mayo brewery and Mescan brewery have their beers available in most bars in town.

The West bar has Mcgraths and Mescan bottles plus one or two foreign beers. They also have 5am saint, a rotating kinnegar beer and mcgargles on tap.

Mcgings has another kinnegar tap aswell as west mayo stout and red, mountain man and mescan bottles.

The Jester has Metalman on tap, 5am saint, hardcore IPA and mountain man in bottles.

Dunnings has west mayo and independent brewery on tap.

The porterhouse and matt molloys west mayo on tap and mescan bottles.

....after that I needed curry chips and bed. But it seems that nearly every brewery that was at the festival in May has been added to a
Pub somewhere in the town. I'll add them to the Beoir finder later.

Do you have time to become a regional rep for the north west? Irish_Goat serves the Derry area at the moment but it would be great to have someone look after Sligo, Westport, Donegal etc.

Awesome news. Living in Dublin but being from Mayo its a huge pain going home each weekend to be drinking pints of pi$$....hopefully it spreads to East Mayo nice and quick!

Anyone tasted anything from St Mels brewery in Longford yet? I'm hearing good things!

Not yet but I'm back in Westmeath now so will try and get to them when I'm settled.
