Where to buy Beoir#1 Double IPA? 11 years 9 months ago #79

What were peoples overall thoughts of Beoir #1 ?

Personally I found a big difference between bottle and kegged version. Bottle kept its hops a lot better then the keg and I also found the keg a bit thinner and sharper. not a rounded as bottles.
Color and body wise, it was darker then i expected. I put this down to the 90 min boil rather then the 60 I did for the original recipe. I really must do a side by side with one of the original bottles if I have any left. <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="" title="Rolling Eyes" /><!-- s:roll: -->

Really happy to be involved and chuffed to get a shout out on the bottle.

It was brilliant and if I had one criticism, it would be that the aroma was a little lacking. Probably due to the filtration. It went down very well at the Beer Bloggers Conference and more importantly for Sam, got them talking about his brewery and how they want to see his beers in the UK. They loved the KPA and Black IPA too.

Spotted on keg in The Black Sheep yesterday. Seemed a little bit stale in the aroma but still tasting good.

Anyone had a bottle recently? I moved house a while ago there and have a few bottles staring at me now. Might crack one open later.

Brought a bottle along to a NCB meet up a few months back.
It's turned into a lovely barley wine. Still have a bottle or 2 left.
